From Mohammad in Mississauga, ON:

I tried out for my high school's team but unfortunately I didn't make it. At the tryouts I felt like the coach didn't even notice me. I made all my shots in the shooting drills and the free throw drills, and that's just about all we had to do. Can you please tell me how to get the coach to notice you? Thanks!

Jay Triano:

Make it completely clear that you are not only a good player, but the hardest worker the coach has ever seen. Play both ends of the floor, dive on the floor, take charges and show him how much it means to you. Keep practicing your shooting and drives to the basket. Volunteer to be a practice player, to keep stats, get to know the coach and remember that Michael Jordan was cut from his junior high school team. Good luck.
