6-11 forward Maciej Lampe was the youngest player in Suns history to appear in a regular season game. As the first Polish-born player to be drafted in the NBA, Lampe was selected by New York in the second round (30th overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft, and later traded to the Suns on Jan. 5, 2004.

Lampe joined the New Orleans Hornets in a January 2005 trade which saw Jim Jackson going to the Phoenix Suns. In 13 games with the Hornets, Lampe is averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Lampe played briefly for Real Madrid in Spain in 2002-03 before being sent on loan to Universidad Complutense of LEB1, one of the highest minor leagues in Spain, to receive more playing time.

This summer, Lampe will join Dikembe Mutombo and other NBA players at Basketball without Borders Africa as camp coach. Join us to welcome Lampe to the camp and send him your message. Be creative with your questions and we will be sure to get Lampe to answer it.
