January 21, 2005 – The Chicago Bulls today announced the completion of a broadcast partnership with Univision radio station La Tremenda 1200 AM. For the first time since the 1998.99 NBA season, the play-by-play of 17 remaining 2004.05 home Bulls’ games and any potential home playoff games will be broadcast in Spanish.

“The Spanish-speaking market has always been very important to us. We are excited to once again be heard on Spanish radio and reach out to all of our great fans in the Hispanic community in this way,” said Bulls Executive Vice President of Business Operations Steve Schanwald.

For Jerry Ryan, Vice President and General Manager of Univision Radio Illinois, the return of the Chicago Bulls to La Tremenda is “something that we are all looking forward to. La Tremenda has always been the radio station that our community associates with sports, especially the Bulls. The excitement of the Bulls games combined with the expertise of La Tremenda’s sports personalities is a winning combination for everyone.”

Beginning with the Bulls’ home contest versus the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, January 25 (7:30 p.m./WCIU-TV), 17 remaining home games and any potential home playoff games will be heard on La Tremenda 1200 AM. Hector Molina will return to the broadcast booth to call the play-by-play, a duty he performed when the Bulls were heard on WIND-AM during the 90s. La Tremenda also has the option to produce its own pre- and post-game shows.
