August 31, 2005—Preparing to tip off its 40th season of basketball this fall, the Chicago Bulls today announced its television broadcast schedule for the 2005.06 season. Every Bulls regular season game will be televised, as well as five preseason contests.

Comcast SportsNet, WGN-TV and WCIU-TV will share the local broadcast duties, while the Bulls will make 16 nationally-televised appearances during the regular season.

In its second season with the Bulls, Comcast SportsNet will televise 42 regular season games (three games will appear on Comcast SportsNet Plus), as well as five preseason games. WGN-TV will air 25 contests, including 15 via its Superstation signal, while WCIU-TV will broadcast 10 games. All home games on Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV will also be telecast in HD.

The Bulls also appear on national television a total of 16 times, including once on ABC, four times on TNT, once on ESPN, once on ESPN 2 and nine times on NBA-TV.

The Bulls will start the 2005.06 season on Wednesday, November 2, when they play host to the Charlotte Bobcats on Comcast SportsNet. Comcast will air 42 regular season games, including 20 at the United Center and 22 on the road, with veteran Bulls’ broadcasters Tom Dore and Johnny “Red” Kerr calling the action. The network will also air five preseason contests.

Broadcasting 25 Bulls games this year, WGN-TV will make its season debut on Saturday, November 5, when the Bulls take to the road to play the New Jersey Nets. Wayne Larrivee and Johnny “Red” Kerr will provide the commentary for all WGN games, 13 at the U.C. and 12 on the road.

Larrivee and Kerr will also call the action for 10 telecasts on WCIU-TV. The “U” will carry its first contest on Monday, November 7, when the Bulls host the NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs. WCIU-TV will air five games from the United Center and five from the road.

Rounding out the broadcast schedule are five nationally televised games that will air on TNT and ABC. TNT will carry four Bulls games, starting with Chicago’s December 22 clash with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Bulls will also appear on TNT on the following dates: February 9 at Sacramento, February 16 versus Philadelphia and March 2 against Cleveland. Chicago’s appearance on ABC this season will come on April 16 when the team travels to Miami to take on the Heat. The five games that will air on ABC and TNT are exclusive to those networks and will not be telecast by our local broadcast partners.
