Bulls defeat Jazz in RMR finale
Aaron Gray's 23 points and nine rebounds led Chicago as the Bulls finished 2-2 in the Rocky Mountain Revue

    Chicago played four games in Utah to round out its summer league docket

    Aaron Gray dominated in the Bulls’ final summer league contest, tallying 23 points and grabbing nine boards in a 78-60 win over the Utah Jazz. Gray connected on 9-of-10 from the field and Chicago finished with a 2-2 Rocky Mountain Revue record. Thomas Gardner continued his steady play, scoring 20 points for the Bulls, who shot 51.8 percent for the game and held the Jazz to a 36.1 percent clip.

    Behind 22 points and five assists from Jeff Green, the 5th overall pick in this summer’s draft, Seattle jumped out to an early lead and held on to defeat the Bulls, 96-89, in Rocky Mountain Revue action on Thursday. Chicago (1-2) was led by Thomas Gardner, who scored 21 points, and D’or Fischer, who added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

    Rookie Aaron Gray had a solid game, finishing with 15 points and seven rebounds in just under 26 minutes of work as the Bulls (1-1) defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 85-79. Gray connected on 5-of-5 from the field and added a pair of blocked shots. JamesOn Curry had a solid performance as he recorded 11 points, including 5-of-6 from the free throw line, and six assists. Atlanta was led by forward Sheldon Williams' 20 points and five rebounds.

    Fresh off five games in Orlando, Chicago made it's 2007 Rocky Mountain Revue debut on Monday, but lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 88-77. The Bulls were led by Thomas Gardner with 18 points and five rebounds, while JamesOn Curry added 15 points off the bench. Sixers guard Louis Williams was the first player in this year’s RMR to break 30 points. He scored 31 points, grabbed six boards, and dished two assists.

    Despite 25 points from Thabo Sefolosha, the Bulls dropped their final game at the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League, 88-77, to the New Jersey Nets on Friday. JamesOn Curry added 19 points for Chicago (2-3), which will now travel to Salt Lake City to play four games and round out its summer league schedule. Five players for New Jersey scored in double figures, while the squad also blistered the nets, shooting 56.1 percent from the field for the game.

    Playing without Tyrus Thomas and Andre Barrett, who rested a bruised ankle, the Bulls posted their lowest point total in summer league play thus far and fell to the Orlando Magic, 88-72. Thabo Sefolosha paced the Bulls, now 2-2, with a solid all-around performance, scoring 13 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists. Pittsburgh product Aaron Gray chipped in 13 points as well, with Lance Williams and JamesOn Curry adding 12 and 10, respectively.

    Wednesday’s final game between Chicago and the Miami Heat went to the Bulls, who posted a 77-66 victory and improved to 2-1 on the week. Chicago's Thabo Sefolosha had 12 points in the first half and rookie Aaron Gray had 10 for the Bulls, who led 47-30 at the break. Miami’s leading scorers were guards Jeremy Richardson and Chris Quinn, who had 12 apiece. The Heat shot 33 percent from the field for the game. Gray finished with 15 points on the evening, while Tyrus Thomas recorded 12 rebounds and seven points.

    In the final game on day two of the Pepsi Pro Summer League, the Bulls (1-1) rode Tyrus Thomas and his highlight reel worth of dunks and blocks to a 92-80 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. Thomas led all scorers with 24 points, while Sefolosha put in 20 and center Aaron Gray recorded a double-double with 10 point and 10 rebounds for the Bulls. Adam Morrison led Charlotte with 17 points.

    In the opening contest of the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League in Orlando, the Bulls fell to the Indiana Pacers, 93-89. Tyrus Thomas recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and five blocks, while Andre Barrett added 13 points with six assists and Lance Williams scored 15 off the bench for Chicago. Kareem Rush recorded a game-high 20 points for the Pacers.



    The Chicago Bulls participated in the Pepsi Pro Summer League from July 9-13 at the RDV Sportsplex in Orlando, Florida, finishing with a record of 2-3. The team then played in the Rocky Mountain Review held in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 13-20 at Salt Lake Community College's Life Time Activities Center and was 2-2.

    Bulls rookies Joakim Noah (No. 9 overall in NBA Draft 2007), Aaron Gray (No. 49) and JamesOn Curry (No. 51) were joined by fellow Bulls Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, Andre Barrett and Martynas Andriuskevicius on the roster. Noah, however, did not play in either summer league due to a rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder. In addition, Tyrus Thomas did not play in Utah due to tendinitis. Neither injury is considered serious.
