Boylan |
Quoting Bulls Interim Head Coach Jim Boylan
“Well, it was a good way for us to end the first half of the season, or so-called first half of the season. Tonight was a game that we really needed to get. Again, we were short-handed with Ben out and Aaron's finger getting dislocated. I thought the guys really rose up tonight; Kirk off the bench was fantastic. Maybe I'll keep him coming off the bench for the rest of the season. Just kidding, don't everyone get crazy now.”
On Thabo Sefolosha:
“Thabo was great, Wade had 30 but I thought Thabo did a great job with him. Also, we had quite a few guys getting to the glass; they didn't get a lot of second chance opportunities. He (Thabo) knows what he can do out there, he can defend his position, he can rebound the ball. He can finish at the rim and get some tip-ins. He's finding his way in the NBA and playing with a lot of confidence and improving game-by-game. When you have Thabo on the floor in the guard position it helps you out defensively. He rebounds and anticipates a lot of passes.”
On not losing momentum when the pressure was on:
“Something that we've been working on and what we did tonight was not to get down, but to dig in and make something happen and that's what I thought we did tonight. And we made some shots when we needed to tonight. We haven't been the greatest home team so it was nice to win here especially right before the All-Star break.”
On other positives from the game:
“The other thing we did well tonight is we had a very good screening game. That's something that's often overlooked. If you're a team that screens really well it's not easy for the defense to lock you up. Some of our guards were turning a corner and making things happen.”

On the win:
“Feels good. We really wanted this one and we got it. We played pretty well and we were able to grab a lot of rebounds. This shows the type of team that we are. Many guys stepped up and Kirk (Hinrich) came in and did a really good job.”
On guarding Dwyane Wade:
“He's a very good player, and he has so many weapons. He can really attack the basket but he's also got that 17-foot jump shot. He's hard to guard.”
On meshing when the injured guys return:
“It may be a little bit difficult when those guys come back but I think we'll adjust. These guys are such good players so it will be good to have them back.”

Thomas |
Quoting Bulls Forward Tyrus Thomas
Was the win satisfying?
“Most definitely. We were short-handed but it was great to get a win and hopefully take some of that momentum into the all-star break. We hope it can continue.”
On three guys in double figures:
“It helps with three guys in double figures. You've got 30-some points and 30-some rebounds so it definitely helps a lot.”
On their play down the stretch:
“We made a lot of mistakes down the stretch but luckily we were able to make good out of the situation.”
On playing Shawn Marion:
“I've played against him twice this season as we all have and you recognize that he's a guy that wants to get up and down the floor. You have to keep an eye on him and run the floor with him.”
On his blocks:
“Marion likes to get easy baskets so if you can take one or two of those away a game it can really make a big difference.”

Riley |
Quoting Heat Head Coach Pat Riley
"We just couldn't sustain the effort for this whole game because of a lack of rebounding and especially our turnovers in the fourth quarter really hurt us. Tonight there were a lot of 50-50 balls. Those are the loose balls and we just didn't come up with them. It was like 89-87 with one of them where Hinrich got it and made a jumper. That seemed to be it for us. Our lack of size and rebounding hurt us again. This is the way it’s been all year. Getting Shawn and Marcus helps, but not in the muscle and rebounding help we need. We had out chance to win. We played well and led in the second half. Then it comes down to one or two plays that make the difference. If we make a defensive stop of something we can win the game."
On what he's going to do over the All-Star break:
"Keeping my dreams big and worries small."

Marion |
Quoting Heat Forward Shawn Marion
On their team play:
"We were fighting for this one all the way. Our turnovers just caught up with us. If we take care of the ball, we win tonight. We never give up and you just have to love that about this team."
On closing it to within two:
"We got that close and I was trying too hard. I guess I was too anxious to get the ball going and turned it over. That was a big swing for us tonight. After the break we just need to start with a clean slate. We'll do the best we can and try to get everyone healthy and get everyone going."

Wade |
Quoting Heat Guard Dwyane Wade
On their effort:
"We were fighting hard and just trying to get a win out there. Tonight they just got the loose balls and rebounds. It just seemed that all of the 50-50 balls went their way. If we would have got them, we would have been there for the win. Down the stretch, we just couldn't score. One good possession could have changed it all for us."
On what they'll do after the break:
"After the break we just have to come back and take it one game at a time. We're learning to play together and that will help us get team unity. I know Shawn. Once we get it down and together, we will be much better. I know his game. Tonight it was nice to play well here. This was one of my better games here. Now I know that I can play here."
