Head Coach Scott Skiles on Pargo:
“Jannero was a nice surprise. We liked him [when he was in Chicago] and we liked him from afar. We had good reports out of the Lakers about him. He’s a guy who can come in off the bench and get hot quickly. He’s not afraid to take big shots and he plays with a lot of confidence. His defense improved while he was with us. He’s in the same boat as Paul Shirley, Linton [Johnson III] and Ronald [Dupree].

It’s a big summer for those four guys, not only with regards to possibly being on our team, but for their careers. I think that ultimately, Jannero’s role in the league is to be an off-the-bench shooter/scorer. We liked him and he definitely had a hand in some of our wins that came late in the season.”

Was there a common denominator among that group of four guys?
“We looked at all four of them as hard playing guys who are serious about their jobs and serious about what they are trying to accomplish as players. They are all works-in-progress, but that is what you get when you go to sign guys mid-season. They were all here early, they stayed late, and they worked hard. Those are the kind of guys we’re trying to get.”

Pargo went for a career night in his first game after being signed for the remainder of the season. The 6-1 point guard established career highs in points and assists en route to tying three different milestones against Milwaukee on Mar. 26. Pargo came off the bench and scored 34 points, on 13-22 FG shooting and 7-12 3FG, and added 9 assists.

"I definitely had it going," Pargo said after the game. "My teammates got me the ball and I was fortunate the ball went down. The other team did not overlook me. Guys in this league have a lot of respect for each other. You don't get in this league because you are not talented. I would definitely rather have the victory. I felt pretty good. You dream of going out and playing freely. Coach did a good job of having confidence in me tonight. I am just glad to have an opportunity to come back and play."
