Wayne Larrivee will return as play by play announcer for his 17th season on WGN TV and for the eighth season on WCIU-TV.

He also serves as the Green Bay Packers radio play-by-play announcer … has won the 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2004 Midwest Emmy for Bulls play-by-play broadcasting on WGN-TV … 2004 Edward R. Murrow Award for Green Bay Packers football play-by-play … three-time winner of AIRY Award for top play-by-play announcer in Wisconsin for work on Green Bay Packers football broadcasts ... Wayne began his broadcasting career in 1975 at KGRO Radio in Pampa, Texas ... from there, he moved to Davenport, Iowa, and KSTT Radio, where he announced University of Iowa football, minor league baseball and high school basketball games ... in 1978, he headed to Kansas City, Mo., where he provided daily sportscasts, as well as Kansas City Kings play by play for KCMO Radio ... was soon known as the “Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs” ... he joined WGN Radio in 1985, where he began his broadcasting duties as play by play announcer for the Chicago Bears Radio Network ... in 1998 awarded the Illinois Sportscaster of the Year award by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association … 1997 winner of the Midwest Emmy for Bulls play by play announcing ... he has been a four-time recipient of the Illinois Broadcasting Association’s “Silver Dome Award” in the category of “Best Radio Play By Play Broadcast” for his work as the Bears announcer ... Wayne has also announced Big Ten football and basketball on ESPN, RAYCOM and the Big Ten Network... Wayne and his wife, Julie, reside in Grafton, Wis., with their two children.
