Hinrich Signs With Bulls

July 15, 2003 -- The Chicago Bulls today signed Kirk Hinrich, the team’s first round (seventh overall) draft choice in NBA Draft 2003. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not released.
Hinrich, 22, is currently participating in the Bulls’ four-day mini-camp, July 14-17, prior to making his NBA debut with the club in the 2003 Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue from July 18-26 in West Valley City, UT.
A 6-3, 190-pound guard, Hinrich was named Third Team All-America by AP as a senior after earning Honorable Mention status during his junior season. He led two Kansas teams to the Final Four (2002 and 2003).
During his four-year career as a Jayhawk, the Sioux City, Iowa native averaged 12.4 ppg, 4.7 apg and 3.8 rpg, shooting .493 from the field, including .430 from three-point range. He finished his career third at Kansas in total assists (668), third in steals (206), eighth in scoring (1,753) and third in three-point field goal percentage (.430) and three-point field goals made (235).
