November Player of the Month: Luol Deng
January 2, 2007 – Ben Gordon has been named Bulls CDW/Sony Notebooks Player of the Month for December. The 6-3, 200-pound guard joins Luol Deng, November’s recipient, as this season’s first two winners of the monthly award.
Gordon appeared in all 17 of Chicago’s December games and averaged a team-high 23.1 ppg, 3.1 apg and 2.8 rpg in 29.8 mpg. He also shot .467 from the floor, including .395 from three-point range, and .924 from the free throw line. He had 13 games of 20+ points, including eight-straight outings of 20+.
He led the Bulls in scoring nine times and in assists two times, helping Chicago to a 14-3 record in December – the Eastern Conference’s best record in the month and the franchise’s most wins in a single month since going 15-1 in November of 1996.
