October 24, 2006 – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Bulls, has announced former University of Illinois basketball star and NBA standout Kendall Gill has been added as a co-studio analyst, joining Bulls legend Norm Van Lier for every edition of AT&T Yellow Pages Bulls Pre-Game Live and Toyota Bulls Post Game Live for the 2006.07 Bulls season.

Gill and Van Lier will make their co-studio analyst debut starting with AT&T Yellow Pages Bulls Pre-Game Live on Wednesday, November 1 at 5:30 p.m., before game coverage of Comcast SportsNet’s first Bulls game of the 2006.07 season at Orlando (6:00 p.m. tip-off). Mark Schanowski will also return as studio host of Comcast SportsNet’s Bulls studio shows this season. The announcement was made by James J. Corno, Senior Vice President/General Manager for Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

“Kendall’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will definitely be major assets to our Bulls studio shows,” said Corno. “We’re thrilled to have both he and Norm on board to enhance our comprehensive Bulls coverage.”

Gill, who played 15 seasons in the NBA, including one for the Bulls during the 2003.04 season, was chosen by the Charlotte Hornets as the fifth-overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft. In two different seasons, Gill averaged over 20 points per game (91.92 with Charlotte and 96.97 with New Jersey). In the 1997.98 season, Gill led the NBA in steals as a member of the Nets and, in April of 1999, he recorded 11 steals in a game against Miami, tying a Nets franchise record.

Chicago-born Gill attended Rich Central H.S. in Olympia Fields, IL, where he led the team to a second-place finish in the IHSA Class AA state boys basketball tournament. Following high school, he played four years for the University of Illinois and was a key member of the 1989 Final Four team. As a senior, Gill led the Big Ten in scoring and was named a first-team All-American. He left Illinois as the 7th all-time leading scorer in school history.
