Mike Greenberg of ESPN's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" milked a cow live on air Thursday morning at their studios in Bristol, CT as part of a losing bet to Mike Golic during March Madness.

Chicago's own Benny the Bull was invited to attend. Benny had gone on record as not being in favor of this clear exploitation of one of his “people,” but because they insisted on seeing the mockery through, he was on hand to observe, show support to his bovine friend and make sure proper milking protocol was followed.

WHEN:
The event was on Thursday, June 21. The actual milking happened between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. CST.

WHERE:
The cow milking took place on the ESPN campus. That is the normal HD studio for "Mike & Mike in the Morning."

THE PLAYERS:

  • Greeny & Golic - Mike & Mike did their show as normal.
  • Cow Handlers - "Sox" (the cow) came from a place called Stew Leonards.
  • Buster Olney - Buster served as a sideline reporter throughout the show. Buster was also in-studio during the actual cow milking. Buster apparently has a wealth on knowledge on cow milking that put Greeny at ease.
  • Special Guest - "Benny", Chicago Bulls mascot. He's essentially served as support for "Sox". He wanted to make sure his fellow bovine was properly handled and insisted on being in studio for the moment of truth.
