Meet Luvabull Nikki
I am originally from Homer Glen, Illinois. I have lived in Chicago for the past 6 years.
I am a dental assistant, and a full-time dental hygiene student.
I graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned a bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in Art History in 2005. I amcurrently a student in the Kennedy-King Dental Hygiene program at the UIC College of Dentistryand will be graduating in May of 2011.
I have a few nicknames; My Mom calls me Pink, Kiki, Peanut--or Nicole, which is my full name. My friends mostly call me Nik or by my last name.
I am Spanish, Mexican, French-Canadian, and German.
I started “dancing” at the age of three in the studio, with ballet and tap. Throughout my life, I have studied jazz and modern dance, but I have the most training and experience in ballet and pointe.
Growing up, I was on dance and cheer teams starting early on in grade school and throughout junior high. I was a member of the pom team at Providence Catholic High School for 4 years. I attended Eastern Illinois University for two years, and was a member of the Pink Panthers dance team.
I started my professional career in 2002 in the Arena Football League, dancing for the Chicago Rush, as an Adrenaline Rush Dancer. I was a member of the team for 6 years, 3 of which I was named a team captain. I was a nominated, two-time AFL All-Star Dream Team member and was fortunate enough to dance in two arena bowls! I am more than excited to continue with my dance experience for the second season, with the Chicago Bulls as a Chicago Luvabull!
My goals throughout my lifetime are to live a happy, love filled life. To be able to look back and be happy with all of the decisions I have made throughout, and never have to say “I wish I would have.” To always treat people with compassion and understanding. To keep faith in myself, and to always work hard, but remember to have fun and live life to the fullest.
Three words that describe me are
Passionate, Energetic, and Driven

My claim to fame is...
I was in the 2006 AFL EA Sports play station game. I also would have to say being a Chicago Luvabull!
Most people don’t know this about me...
I was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10. I was nationally competitive, and also got the chance to train in Seoul, Korea.
Years on squad
This is my 2nd year as a Luvabull.
Why I chose to be a Luvabull
I have been very blessed throughout my life to have been a part of so many amazing experiences, dance related or not…I have met some wonderful people throughout my dance career. Some of my best friends have come from being a part of past organizations. To say the least, I have had a lot of great memories.
I originally chose to become a Luvabull because I love to dance and perform and I wanted to continue on, building more great memories and to continue to have new and exciting experiences. I am very happy that I, again, have the opportunity to be included as a member of this team because I found that, and so much more!
I feel very fortunate to be a part of such an amazing organization, and long tradition as the Chicago Luvabulls. I have learned so much about myself and from the other ladies on this team that I will carry with me throughout my life. I am very proud to be associated with such a remarkable, hardworking group of women.
I love Halloween!
I love many movies, but my ALL time favorite is Memoirs of a Geisha.
I am always compassionate.
Book I’m reading now
I don’t have much time to read outside of school assignments. So as of now all of the many books I am reading pertain to teeth!
Favorite type of music
I love music of all genres, but mostly I love music that I can dance to.
How do friends see you (three words)
My friends would say that I am “loyal, funny, and busy!”
My proudest accomplishment to date is...
My proudest accomplishment to date is not only graduating from The School of the Art Institute, but also being accepted as 1 of 26 students in the Kennedy-King Hygiene Department at the UIC College of Dentistry. I am also very proud to be a returning member of the Luvabulls.
What is the best gift you have ever received?
The best gift I have received is all of the schooling my parents have paid for. Without them I would not be succeeding in a program that will allow me to work in a field that I love.
My ideal job is one that I am currently working towards, in the field of dentistry. I would love to specialize in children and people that have special needs
Advice to young dancers
The best advice I can give to young dancers is always put 100% into everything you want to accomplish, inside and outside of dance. Set all of your goals high and work towards reaching them.
No matter how hard or trying it may get- NEVER give up something you love. Always believe in yourself and remember everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect... It’s what you learn from your mistakes that will ultimately get you to where you want to be.
