2010-11 Luvabulls: Meet Erin
St. Louis, MO
Southeast Missouri State University
What does being a member of the Luvabulls mean to you?
For me, being a Luvabull means always striving to become the “total package.” As a member of the Luvabulls, you not only take pride in how you present yourself as a dancer, but as a young woman. When I think of a Luvabull, I think of someone who is proud of their city, generous, intelligent, and talented. Being a Luvabull encompasses so many things and at the top of the list for me is loving the Bulls and giving it all you got on the court!
How has your dancing experience led you to this point?
I come from a studio background where I trained for 15 years before dancing in college. Although I minored in dance and performed at many dance concerts, nothing compared to the excitement of dancing on my college dance team. By the time I graduated I knew I wanted to take it to the next level so I auditioned for the Luvabulls, made it, then packed my bags for Chicago and here I am four years later!
What is your claim to fame—besides being a Luvabull?
My claim to fame would have to be teaching my parents, the bride and groom, three bridesmaids, and about eight others the entire Thriller routine to be performed at my brother’s wedding reception. I firmly believe had this video been placed on YouTube it would have been an overnight sensation, truly becoming my claim to fame!
What people do you admire the most and how have they supported or inspired you as a dancer?
The people I admire the most are my parents. They never hesitate in supporting any of their children and always go out of their way to ensure our happiness. My parents were at every dance recital, college performance, and continue to attend as many Bulls games as they can.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date and where do you see yourself in 10 years?
My proudest accomplishment to date is a tie between obtaining my masters and becoming a Luvabull. Both are goals that required years of hard work and determination. My family shares in this accomplishment because I could not have gotten here without them!
