2010-11 Luvabulls: Meet Erika
Glendale Heights, IL
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
What does being a member of the Luvabulls mean to you?
Being a Luvabull means having dedication and always striving to be the best. I feel that the Luvabulls have been very successful because we are hard-working and passionate about dancing and performing. I even see myself as a role-model, a loyal fan and an inspiration on the floor by celebrating the Bulls and the city of Chicago through dance and cheer.
How has your dancing experience led you to this point?
Having trained in dance since a young age has allowed me to find a passion and comfort in performing in front of large groups of people. I have had many, great opportunities to dance on several dance teams, and have been grateful for all that I have learned and shared across various performers and skill sets. At this point in my life, I feel blessed to be part of the Luvabulls' team, where I have made lasting relationships and friendships. I am also grateful for the opportunities the team has given me over the years and the memories to last a lifetime.
What people do you admire the most and how have they supported or inspired you as a dancer?
I admire those who are optimistic and goal-oriented, who work hard to overcome obstacles and achieve goals and even dreams. Professionally, they inspire me to be a stronger leader and as far as a dancer, they inspire me to want to be that all-around dancer.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date and where do you see yourself in 10 years?
My new position as a Marketing Director for a Senior Living Community is my proudest achievement to date. I have the wonderful opportunity to meet new people on a daily basis and help seniors live life to the fullest, which is very rewarding. In 10 years, I see myself living a healthy, fulfilled and successful life and hope to still be dancing and performing in front of large audiences, wherever that may be!
