Meet Luvabull Danielle

Hi, I am 24 years old, I'm from Parma, Ohio and work as a dance instructor. I went to the University of Akron and sometimes go by Danni.

Dance experience

I became interested in dancing at the age of 7 after giving up ice skating. I started with jazz lessons my first year, and from there my interest grew to ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, and hip hop. During my high school years I continued to dance for my studio but also found time to participate and start my high school's first dance team. Even though this team started my senior year, it was here I was convinced that I did not want to leave dancing behind as I moved forward to enter college. Therefore, I selected a college based on their dance department and found the University of Akron's Dance Department to be my home for the next four years. Here I concentrated on classical ballet, modern, tap and jazz. Along with the my daily classes I had four performances a year that myself and the rest of the student body rehearsed for as well as finding it was the stage where we could really let loose and have fun!

Lifetime goal

I want to remember my past and the lessons I learned along the way. Currently, I want to live life to the fullest each and every day for I will never see another day like this. Finally, for the future I hope I live a long, happy, and fulfilled life in regards to my family, friends, and career.

Three words that describe me are

Determined, generous, energetic

Quote to live by

I have always lived by the motto: for every bad day, you will have 3 great days in the future

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today"—James Dean

My pet peeve

Channel surfing; whether it is with the television or the radio station.

My claim to fame is...

Being a Luvabull!

Most people don't know this about me...

I love working with tools and doing home improvements (Thanks Dad for all the lessons).

Why I chose to be a Luvabull

I chose to be a Luvabull because I love dancing and basketball; therefore I have both my loves in one place. The rush I get from being on court during a game is the greatest feeling in the world. I hope everyone has something in their life that gives them that type of joy.

Favorite holiday

My favorite holiday is Christmas because that is when I am able to see the majority of my family members. We have so many traditions that take place during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; without them it just does not feel like the holidays! It is a time when everyone comes together and there is absolutely happiness everywhere one goes.

Favorite movie

Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Hitch

Best quality

My best quality would have to be staying focused and goal oriented. When I know what the final destination is, there is nothing that will stand in my way of reaching that point.

Book I'm reading now

I am currently reading The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregorory.

Favorite type of music

I like all types of music. I cannot really define my favorite. However, I find myself listening to a lot of country lately, it seems to relax me.

How do friends see you (three words)

Funny, optimistic, sweetheart

My proudest accomplishment to date is

Finishing my dance degree

What is the best gift you have ever received?

The best gift I ever received was and always will be my family. I love you guys! They are always there to support my every decision.

Ideal job

My ideal job would be to become a director and owner of my own dance studio. I feel that all the dance related jobs that I have had and currently have are preparing me for this goal.

Advice to young dancers

Dancing is not easy. We may make it look easy, but one has to realize all the time and hard work that all dancers put into every day of their lives. Every decision we make in some way has to deal with our life as dancers. Yet we all still know when to let loose and have fun!

However, mostly I would hope that our young dancers today realize this art form is about emotion and feelings. It is not just a bunch of steps put together to look fun. It is supposed to make the audience feel something; what that something is depends on the audience member watching it.

Finally, if you believe in something strong enough do not just give it up because you are told you are not good enough or that it is too hard. Just realize that you have to set your goals high and reach for the stars to achieve them!
