I began dancing at the age of 7. Taking lessons in jazz, ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, and hip hop. During high school I continued to dance for my studio, but also found time to be apart and start my high school’s dance team. Even though this team started in my senior year, it was here I learned I did not want to leave dancing behind as I entered college.

Therefore, I selected the University of Akron’s Dance Department as my home for the next four years. There I concentrated on classical ballet, modern, tap and jazz. Even though the schedule was rigorous, myself and the rest of the student body was still able to find time to let loose at two of our four performances each year; of which I participated in all of them sharing the roles of dancer and stage manager. I also found time to choreograph a piece or two for my classmates. On top of the dancing I was a member of our dance club all four years, of which two of them I served as an officer.

I found through teaching dance that I love working with the young children and seniors; and intend to open my own dance studio some day to enrich both the young and young at heart’s minds and souls.

I want to remember to soak in each day and absorb all that I can, because I will never see another day like it; yet not forget the days of the past and the lessons learned. As for the future, to let things fall into place and enjoy the ride!

Working at an outdoor pool for three summers, but being the cashier, not a lifeguard.

I love working with power tools and doing home improvements (Thanks Dad for all the lessons).

There are so many I could not choose, because something happens to me at LEAST once a day!

Dancing and helping others

Shrimp and/or any type of pizza (except anchovies)

Dirty Dancing, Pretty Women, Hitch

The Giving Tree, and any book written by Mary Higgins Clark

House and Las Vegas (however most of the time I see it by DVR)

Go anywhere as long as my family was with me; but I most definitely prefer the warm sunny weather!

My parents for they helped me through every stage in my life and never gave up on me, even when I did :) Also all my dance instructors, for I would not be where I am without all their help, support, and encouragement!

Finishing my undergraduate degree in dance.

Parents seem to hinder your plans at the moment, but they know what they are talking about, so take time to listen to them, for their stories are really GOOD; and in the long run they are the best friends you will ever have!

My family always being there to support my every decision.
