Bulls host surprise reading timeout at Shedd Aquarium

James Johnson and Ronnie Brewer were on hand to tip-off this season’s Read to Achieve program

October 25, 2010—To tip-off this season’s Read to Achieve program, Bulls players James Johnson and Ronnie Brewer, along with Benny the Bull, recently surprised and joined a group of students for a tour of the Shedd Aquarium’s Polar Play Zone.

After the tour, the players provided each student with a Curious George book.

The Bulls, Rush University Medical Center and ComEd coordinated the event as part of the Bulls’ ongoing Read to Achieve program, which inspires literacy among Chicago’s youth by encouraging families and adults to read regularly with young children. As part of its annual commitment, the Bulls host Reading Time Outs with local children, distribute more than 5,000 new books and organize literacy activities. Rush University Medical Center and ComEd are partners of the program.
