Reinsdorf, Forman and the Bulls celebrate Valentine’s Day with Ronald McDonald House families
February 13, 2012 – A large group of volunteers from the Bulls organization including Michael and Nancy Reinsdorf, Gar and Leslie Forman, John Lucas III, Jimmy Butler, Bob Love, Sidney Green, Carolyn Paxson, members of the Luvabulls and Benny the Bull celebrated Valentine’s Day on Monday with more than 50 families with the Ronald McDonald House near University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.
The Bulls joined the families in a variety of activities including an arts and crafts project, video games and other interactive basketball-themed activities. Each participating child received Bulls Valentine’s Day gifts and dinner.
Over the past 10 years, the Bulls have partnered with Ronald McDonald House on a number of initiatives, including coordinating player visits to the homes and supporting fundraising through the donation of autographed items. This summer, Michael and Nancy Reinsdorf, along with Gar and Leslie Forman, will serve as Honorary Chairs for the opening of the new Ronald McDonald House near Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is to improve the health, well-being and education of children. The four Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana provide a “home away from home” to keep families together while their child is receiving medical treatment far from home. The Houses provide comfortable and private rooms, opportunities to bond with other families going through similar situations, and delicious meals prepared by giving volunteers for a suggested donation of $10 per night.
