Love and Green host reading timeout at Shedd Aquarium

December 16, 2010 -- As part of the Read to Achieve program, Bulls legends Bob Love and Sidney Green along with Benny the Bull celebrated the season of giving by hosting a reading timeout for 100 Hendricks Elementary Community Academy students at the Shedd Aquarium on December 16.

The students were treated to a screening of the Polar Express 4D movie and a showing of A Holiday Fantasea in the Oceanarium. After the shows, the Bulls legends read the Polar Express book to the students.

The students also received lunch provided by Chipotle.

The Bulls, Rush University Medical Center and ComEd coordinated the event as part of the Bulls’ ongoing Read to Achieve program, which inspires literacy among Chicago’s youth by encouraging families and adults to read regularly with young children. As part of its annual commitment, the Bulls host Reading Time Outs with local children, distribute more than 5,000 new books and organize literacy activities. Rush University Medical Center and ComEd are partners of the program.
