    March 12, 2008 – Bulls players Thabo Sefolosha and Aaron Gray visited more than 40 Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education-Roosevelt (ICRE-R) students on Wednesday afternoon. The ICRE-R is a state-run residential facility for children and young adults with severe physical disabilities and other health impairments.

    After practice, the players met with the students and demonstrated dribbling, shooting and free throw techniques along with members of the Chicago Wheelchair Bulls. Additionally, the players took part in a question and answer session and signed autographs for the students. Bulls’ mascot Benny the Bull and Shanon Lersch, Miss Illinois USA 2008 and Luvabulls captain, were also be on hand for the event.

    The Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education-Roosevelt (ICRE-R) is a state-run residential facility located in the West Side Medical District serving children and young adults with severe physical disabilities and health-related issues. The facility provides a continuum of education and related services to these students at no cost to the students’ families. Programs are designed to give students the ability to experience and learn life-long skills and create a vision of a desirable future lifestyle.

    The mission of ICRE-R is to prepare young people with severe physical disabilities for a successful adult life through a comprehensive program of education and training.
