February 7, 2011 – The Chicago Bulls will team up with the White Sox and Blackhawks to host the inaugural “Home Team Charity Run” on Sunday, April 3, 2011. A portion of proceeds from the race will be split among the three teams’ respective charities including CharitaBulls, the Bulls non-profit organization that promotes youth programming.
The run, a 10K, will start at the United Center and finish at U.S. Cellular Field. Participating runners get to choose which team they want to represent and will receive a team-branded moisture-wicking long sleeve jersey.
Following the race, a post-run festival will take place on the grounds of U.S. Cellular Field where runners and guests can enjoy food and beverages, as well as performances from local bands, including Chicago singer and songwriter Michael McDermott.
Former Bulls, White Sox and Blackhawks players will be at the festival for photo and autograph opportunities, and 500 runners will be randomly selected to have their photo taken with the Bulls and White Sox championship trophies.
