Holiday food drive nets over 6,103 pounds of food
The Chicago Bulls and Midway Moving and Storage hosted a holiday food drive on December 20 to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The food drive collected $798 and 6,103 pounds of food, providing approximately 7,422 meals for those in need.
Prior to the tip-off of the Bulls’ home game against the Utah Jazz, fans were encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at any of the United Center admission gates (gates open at 6 p.m.).
High protein foods in unbreakable containers, as well as baby foods, diapers and hygiene products were highly recommended. Monetary donations to the Greater Chicago Food Depository in conjunction with the Bulls’ food drive were also collected at the gates that evening.

Fans not attending that evening’s game can still assist in the collection by purchasing food items or making a donation in the virtual food drive at Bulls.com.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago’s food bank, is a not-for-profit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 600 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to almost a half-million adults and children every year.
