Dunkin’ Donuts donates $10,000 to Rose’s Greater Chicago Food Depository pantry

November 10, 2009 – In conjunction with the launch of Dunkin’ Donuts new “Everyday Value Menu” in Chicago, Bulls players Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah were at the Deerfield Dunkin’ Donuts (499 Lake Cook Road) on Monday afternoon to greet Bulls fans and hand out 500 Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards.

The 500 cards were a part of the larger 20,000 gift cards Dunkin’ Donuts will be distributing throughout the Chicagoland area on Monday. Each rechargeable card is pre-loaded with $2.00, has no expiration date and can be used at any Chicagoland Dunkin’ Donuts location.

The limited-time “Everyday Value Menu” is available throughout the entire day and features six items priced at 99 cents at the nearly 500 participating Chicago area Dunkin’ Donuts.

In honor of Rose’s appearance, Dunkin’ Donuts donated $10,000 to the Uncle Shack Food Pantry, a member of the Chicago Greater Food Depository. The Uncle Shack Food Pantry is under the direction of Rose’s mother, Brenda Rose and sister-in-law Shanda Rose and is located in the West Englewood area of Chicago, where Rose grew up.

It was named after Rose’s uncle and Brenda's late brother, Reginald “Shack” Brumfield who died in December of last year.

Their mission is to provide weekly food service on behalf of the Rose family to assist in the feeding of Englewood’s hungry. They operate every Thursday between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brenda and Shanda Rose were on hand to accept the donation.
