Bulls, HP, and NBA hold rally to celebrate local digital assist winner

To help honor Higgins Elementary School’s win, Jannero Pargo, Bob Love, Sidney Green and Benny the Bull were on hand at the school for a rally to congratulate the winners. Student projects from Higgins won the first, second and third place grants for the competition.

April 12, 2010 — The Chicago Bulls, HP, and the NBA teamed up on Monday to celebrate the local school that won the HP Digital Assist education grant competition.

To help honor Higgins Elementary School’s win, Jannero Pargo, Bob Love, Sidney Green and Benny the Bull were on hand at the school for a rally to congratulate the winners. Student projects from Higgins won the first, second and third place grants for the competition.

For their win, the school received approximately $100,000 in HP mobile digital classroom technology, including HP Tablet PCs, a mobile storage cart, wireless and printing technology and teacher professional development.

The HP Digital Assist competition invited student teams to create sports or basketball-themed digital media projects that demonstrated their knowledge of math, science or reading. The competition included more than 5,000 students from approximately 100 selected Title 1 middle schools in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington, D.C.
