Constellation to sponsor Bulls "Go Green" game

April 5, 2013 – The Chicago Bulls announced today their participation in the NBA’s Green Week 2013 by hosting an in-arena “Go Green” night at Friday’s game versus the Orlando Magic. Constellation, the official energy provider for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks and the United Center, will sponsor the game.

During the fifth annual NBA Green Week (April 4 – April 12), the entire NBA family will team up to generate awareness and funding to protect the environment. To show their support, the players will wear 100 percent organic cotton adidas shooting shirts featuring the NBA Green logo.

Constellation is in the second year of its existing five-year sponsorship and as part of the “Go Green” game, they will purchase Green-e Energy Certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match the electricity use during the game. RECs represent the environmental benefit of electricity generated by wind and therefore avoid carbon dioxide emissions.

Constellation will also provide energy tips that will be shown on the scoreboard throughout the game to educate fans about how they can be more energy efficient. Constellation invited fans to continue their support for the environment by submitting their own “Go Green” tips via the Bulls Twitter account for chances to win tickets to Friday’s game.

In conjunction with Constellation, the Bulls and Blackhawks will also team up for a special “Go Green” community effort this spring. More details about the green event will be released at a later date.
