LISLE, IL, March 13, 2012 – The Bulls/Sox Academy announced today that the official summer camps of the Chicago Bulls are coming to over fifty communities this summer throughout the Chicagoland area with programs for boys and girls from age five to twelve. Since 1996, these camps have been designed for every athlete and ability level to have fun, work hard, and improve on the fundamental skills that are so vital to the sport.

Back for the second year, the Academy will offer a unique experience for all of its summer camp participants at the United Center. Each basketball camp participant, along with one guest, will be invited to the United Center for an exclusive behind-the-scene tour, a special Q&A session with a Bulls' radio/TV personality and a current and/or former Bulls player. Past tours have included visits to the locker room and a photo opportunity with the six NBA World Championship trophies.

“We are proud to offer this exclusive experience to all our camp participants. Beyond working on their game, these young athletes now have a rare opportunity to visit the United Center and meet Chicago Bulls personalities,” said Xan Pearson, Bulls/Sox Academy Vice President of Marketing. “The professional instruction and the opportunity to engage with a pro athlete set us apart from other summer camp programs.”

Chicago Bulls Summer Camps provide professional instructors who will work with campers on ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, footwork and team concepts. The “Rookies” session is geared toward teaching the basic fundamentals of basketball for young players just learning the game. The “Veterans” session focuses on advancing essential skills of basketball for the more experienced or travel players. Each participant in the summer basketball camp program will receive the United Center experience, four free White Sox ticket vouchers, t-shirt, Chicago Bulls indoor/outdoor basketball, duffel bag, and graduation certificate. Restrictions apply to ticket vouchers. All athletes will receive a skills evaluation. The top skills scores in each age group will compete for the Grand Championship on the United Center court at our annual Champions Day event.
