Bulls' Paxson and Forman host reading timeout at Tripp Elementary School in Buffalo Grove

Bulls staff visits local school for Read to Achieve program

March 24, 2011 – As part of the Read to Achieve program, Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman hosted a reading timeout at Tripp Elementary School in Buffalo Grove on Thursday afternoon.

Paxson and Forman were joined by Bill Wennington, Chuck Swirsky, Bob Love, Sidney Green, members of Team Mates, Benny the Bull and other Bulls front office staff as they led reading sessions in each classroom throughout the school.

After the reading sessions, the students gathered for a rally with the Bulls personalities in the school’s auditorium.

The Bulls, Rush University Medical Center and ComEd coordinated the event as part of the Bulls’ ongoing Read to Achieve program, which inspires literacy among Chicago’s youth by encouraging families and adults to read regularly with young children. As part of its annual commitment, the Bulls host Reading Time Outs with local children, distribute more than 5,000 new books and organize literacy activities. Rush University Medical Center and ComEd are partners of the program.
