Bulls support Wounded Warriors at Stars and Strikes event to honor 20 local heroes

Mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors




November 16, 2011 – The Chicago Bulls teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project™ to honor 20 local heroes and their families at the “Stars and Strikes” event on Tuesday night at Pinstripes bowling alley in Northbrook.

Bulls personalities Michael Reinsdorf, Gar Forman, Tom Thibodeau, Stacey King, Bill Wennington, Chuck Swirsky, Adrian Griffin, Andy Greer, Ed Pinckney, Mike Wilhelm, Rick Brunson, Bob Love, Sidney Green, Mickey Johnson, Fred Tedeschi and Benny the Bull dined, mingled and bowled with some wounded service members and their families.

The Bulls joined representatives from the White Sox (including Carlos May), Blackhawks, Bears (including George McCaskey, Jay Hilgenberg and Keith Van Horne) and Cubs to make this event possible.

The mission of Wounded Warrior Project™ (WWP) is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP’s purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
