Bulls host reading tour at elementary school in Naperville

Bulls staff visits Clow Elementary School for Read to Achieve program

December 1, 2011 – As part of the Read to Achieve program, the Chicago Bulls hosted a reading tour event at Clow Elementary School in Naperville on Tuesday morning.

Bulls’ personalities Chuck Swirsky, Sidney Green, Sam Smith, Benny the Bull and other Bulls front office staff helped teach basketball themed lessons to the kindergarten through fifth grade students at Clow Elementary School.

After the classroom sessions, the students gathered for a rally with the Bulls personalities in the school’s auditorium.

Tuesday’s visit to Clow Elementary School was the third stop of the Bulls reading tour events. Throughout the next few months, the Bulls will be visiting local schools to promote the importance of education and literacy.

The Bulls and Rush University Medical Center coordinated the event as part of the Bulls’ ongoing Read to Achieve program, which inspires literacy among Chicago’s youth by encouraging families and adults to read regularly with young children.
