Bulls, Black McDonald’s Operators Association host holiday party for CHA children at local museum
Bill Wennington and Sidney Green were on hand to treat more than 400 children from the CHA’s family housing developments throughout the city of Chicago
December 12, 2011 – The Chicago Bulls and the Black McDonald’s® Operators Association (BMOA) partnered with the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) to host their 12th annual Kids Holiday Party on Sunday at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Bulls’ personalities Bill Wennington and Sidney Green were on hand to treat more than 400 children from the CHA’s family housing developments throughout the city of Chicago to lunch and tours of the museum exhibits including Science Storms, which features Derrick Rose in an interactive display that demonstrates the science behind shooting a basketball.
After the tour, 400 gifts were distributed to each child attending the event to celebrate the holidays. The Bulls would like to thank BMO Harris Bank for helping to secure the toys.
The Bulls also partnered with BMOA, Hinckley Springs and Edy's® Grand Ice Cream to provide lunch for everyone.
In line with its year-round commitment to give back to Chicago, the Bulls have tipped-off their “Home for the Holidays” campaign to reach out to the community this holiday season. The Bulls have planned numerous events to share the joy of the holidays with Chicagoans in need including a toy drive, a shopping spree and holiday parties with local charity organizations.
