Brandon Jennings to visit with shoppers at Boston Store at Mayfair Mall on Thursday
Milwaukee Bucks rookie guard Brandon Jennings will make an appearance at the Boston Store Men's Department (lower level) at Mayfair Mall TOMORROW, Thursday, December 10 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a wristband that allows them to have one (1) item signed by Jennings. Wristbands will be distributed to the first 250 fans at the Boston Store Men's Department beginning at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.
The 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Jennings has emerged as one of the up-and-coming talents in the NBA. He leads the Bucks in scoring (21.2 ppg) and assists (5.7 apg) and leads all rookies in both categories, as well. Jennings became the third player in franchise history (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Redd) to record 50-plus points as he tallied 55 points in the victory over Golden State on November 14, breaking the team's rookie scoring record previously held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (51, February 21, 1970). It was also the most points scored by an NBA rookie since Earl Monroe had 56 in 1968. The 55 points were also just two shy of the franchise's high-scoring game of 57, set by Michael Redd on November 11, 2006.
Jennings became the youngest player in NBA history to score 50-plus points (20 years and 52 days old), breaking the mark set by LeBron James (20 years and 80 days old) on March 20, 2005. Jennings also reached the 50-point mark faster than anyone in league history, scoring 55 points in just his 7th NBA game. The record for fastest to 50 points was previously held by Wilt Chamberlain, who eclipsed the 50-point barrier in his 8th NBA game in 1959. By recording 30-plus points in consecutive games (he had 32 against Denver), Jennings is the first Bucks rookie since Glenn Robinson in 1995 to have back-to-back 30-plus point nights.
Boston Store is a sponsor of Bucks radio and in-arena signage, as well as title sponsor, with IZOD, of the Milwaukee Bucks Rim Rockers Dunk Team.
