Help Save Lives at the 13th Annual Bucks Blood Drive on March 25

Ever wanted to be a hero? This is your chance. Join the Milwaukee Bucks and BloodCenter of Wisconsin in an effort to save lives on Monday, March 25, when they host the 13th annual Milwaukee Bucks Blood Drive. The community blood drive will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bradley Center (1001 N. Fourth St., Milwaukee). There will be free parking for donors in the structure at Fourth and Highland, and complimentary childcare.

To show gratitude to those who are helping to touch lives in a very profound way, the Bucks will provide all attempting donors with a voucher for two Bucks tickets to a future game. The vouchers can be used on Monday, April 1, vs. Charlotte, or Wednesday, April 3, vs. Minnesota. Both games tip off at 7 p.m. Donors will also receive a limited edition blood drive T-shirt.

Several Bucks players and coaches will visit the drive following their morning practice, and members of the Energee! Dance Team and Bucks mascot Bango will be on hand throughout the day to meet and greet donors. To view messages about the importance of blood donation from Bucks forward Marquis Daniels and the team’s Director of Public Relations, Dan Smyczek, visit www.bucks.com/blooddrive.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in general good health and who meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds. The entire process takes about an hour and all blood types are needed, especially O negative and platelet donors. Donors should bring a photo ID with date of birth. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 1-877-BE-A-HERO or visit www.bcw.edu.

Participating sponsors for the blood drive include the BMO Harris Bradley Center, Levy Restaurants, Palermo’s Pizza, Pick ’n Save, Pepsi, Trattoria diCarlo, and Midwest Foods.
