Over 1,000 Students to Participate in Bucks 25th Annual Dance Competition


The Milwaukee Bucks 25th Annual Dance Competition will take placeon Saturday, December 12 prior to the Bucks home game against the Portland Trail Blazers (7:30 p.m. tip-off). Over 1,000 students from46 schools will take part in 72 scheduled performances on the Bucks court at the Bradley Center, located at 1001 N. Fourth St., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The competition will consist of nine performance divisions, including four high school pom divisions (based on enrollment), a junior varsity division, a middle school division, an open division, a jazz division and a funk/hip-hop division. The judging panel will include past and present members of the Bucks Energee! Dance Team, and will select the top two first-place division winners (by points) to perform at halftime of the December 12 game against the Trail Blazers. Other standout participants from the competition will be chosen as Bucks All-Stars and will have the opportunity to perform an additional routine during the third quarter break at Saturday's game.

Future cheerleading competitions include the 25th Annual Milwaukee Bucks High School Cheer Competition and the Milwaukee Bucks Junior High School Competition on January 24, 2010, at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
