CANDY CANE LANE OFFERS FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY, ESPECIALLY IN THE SNOW!

On Friday night, December 10 Star Wars characters will be out in full `force' from 6-10 p.m. to help collect donations.

On Saturday, December 11 ten local ice carvers will be carving ice blocks at homes throughout the neighborhood beginning at 10 a.m.

Mascots from several area sports teams and businesses are joining together to greet children on Friday, December 17 for the 14th Annual Mascot Night on Candy Cane Lane. Mascots will be greeting visitors from 7-9 p.m. Donations collected by volunteers every evening in December benefit the MACC Fund - Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.

Mascots scheduled to appear include: The Klement's Racing Sausages, Bernie Brewer, Milwaukee Buck's Bango, Seymour the North Shore Bank Seagull, Brad Beach, Rooty the Sprecher Beer Raven, Milwaukee Hilton's Paradise Pete, and the Tripoli Animals.

The West Allis neighborhood bounded by Oklahoma and Montana Avenues and 92nd to 96th Street is transformed into a winter wonderland in December to benefit the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.)

For the 25th year, neighbors will join together to show the spirit of the holiday season during "Sharing Christmas." The holiday lights will be aglow from Nov. 26 - Dec. 27, 6-9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 5-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The event is free, but visitors may leave a donation if they wish. These donations translate into a perpetual gift of hope and life for children with cancer. The official collection site is at the corner of 95th & Manitoba

The MACC Fund is leading the fight against childhood cancer and related blood disorders. The primary beneficiary of MACC Fund support is the Midwest Children's Cancer Center, located at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Research is also conducted at the Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
