Bucks and McDonald's Host Three-Point Club $100,000 Shootout
Bango to Join St. Sebastian Principal for Pep Rally in Advance of Sunday’s Contest
03/03/2011
As the principal of St. Sebastian School in Milwaukee, Paul Hohl deals with pressures every day. At halftime of the Bucks game on Sunday, though, he’ll face a much different kind of pressure. When the Bucks host the Boston Celtics this Sunday, March 6 at 8:00 p.m., the Bucks and McDonald’s Restaurants of Southeastern Wisconsin will give Hohl and four other southeastern Wisconsin principals one shot each to win $100,000 for their respective schools.
To prepare for his big opportunity, Principal Hohl will sharpen his shooting skills with Bucks mascot Bango and Ronald McDonaldâ Friday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. at a Pep Rally held at St. Sebastian School (1747 N. 54th Street, Milwaukee).
The McDonald’s Three-Point Club $100,000 Shootout will take place at halftime of Sunday’s game. Principals from St. Sebastian School (Milwaukee), Karcher Middle School (Burlington), Whitnall High School (Greenfield), Milwaukee College Prep – Lindsay Heights (Milwaukee) and Olympia Brown Elementary School (Racine) will take part in the event. They can earn cash prizes to enhance education programs at their respective schools by hitting various shots: a lay-up ($250); a free throw ($500); and the first made half court shot ($100,000 – to be paid over five years). In addition, the principals will receive $100 for their schools simply by participating.
The contest is a feature of the Three-Point Club, sponsored by the McDonald’s Restaurants of Southeastern Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bucks. The club enables students who achieve “honor roll” status to receive complimentary Bucks tickets and McDonald’s Extra Value Meals. More than 1,500 honor roll students and 3,000 family members will attend either the March 4 Bucks game against the Suns, the March 12 tilt versus the 76ers, the March 18 contest against the Nets or the April 9 game against the Cavaliers. The five participants for Friday’s Shooter Contest were selected by a random drawing.
