The National Basketball Association announced today that Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings has been named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March. This is the fourth honor for Jennings, who also received the award three-consecutive months in October/November, December and January.

Jennings helped guide the Bucks to an 11-4 record in the month of March, averaging 14.1 points (first amongst Eastern Conference rookies for the month), 5.1 assists (second amongst Eastern Conference rookies), a 2.00:1 assist-to-turnover ratio (first amongst Eastern Conference rookies), 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals while starting all 15 of the Bucks games in March.

In March, Jennings had four games with 20 or more points, including a 35-point performance in the double-overtime victory at Sacramento on March 19. That was Jennings' highest point production since scoring 55 points on November 14. Against Sacramento, Jennings made a career-high, and Bucks rookie record, eight three-pointers in a career-best 45 minutes. During that game, Jennings broke Ray Allen's franchise rookie record (117) for three-pointers and he currently has 132 three-pointers, which ties for 15th amongst all NBA players and ranks second amongst all rookies. Jennings had another notable performance against Memphis (March 28) with 29 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and a career-high four steals in the Bucks 108-103 overtime victory, the team's 41st of the season.

As the starting point guard, Jennings has helped the Bucks win 10+ games in consecutive months (10-4 in February) and three straight winning months for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign. During March, the Bucks posted an 8-2 record at home and 3-2 mark on the road.

By winning the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award for March, Jennings becomes the first Eastern Conference rookie to ever win the award four times in a season. When he won the award in January, he became one of four Eastern Conference rookies to win the award three times in a season. The monthly award began in the 2005-06 season and Raymond Felton (2005-06), Al Horford (2007-08) and Derrick Rose (2008-09) were the three other Eastern Conference rookies to win it three different months. Earlier this year, Jennings was also named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from November 9 through November 15, a week that included a Bucks rookie record 55-points by Jennings in a win over Golden State.

On the season, Jennings ranks first among rookies in assists (5.9), third in scoring (15.7), third in minutes (32.8) and third in steals (1.28). The rookie point guard is tied for 11th in assists in the NBA. With one more win, the Bucks are guaranteed to finish with a winning record for the first time the 2002-03 season and are on the cusp of their first playoff berth since the 2005-06 campaign. Jennings is the only player to start all 74 games this year for the Bucks.
