Bango continues traditional marches in five Fourth of July parades this weekend


Bucks mascot Bango will join the likes of servicemen and women, firefighters and police officers, high school marching bands, cheerleaders and clowns on Friday as he takes part in a busy parade circuit to help celebrate America's birthday. Bango is scheduled to appear in five Fourth of July parades in West Allis, Glendale, Whitefish Bay, Brown Deer and Humboldt Park. Bango has traditionally participated in regional Fourth of July parades since 1978.

Parade starting times and locations are as follows:

Friday, July 2 - West Allis Independence Day Parade |
7:00 p.m.
Parade begins at 77th Street & Greenfield Avenue, goes east to 70th Street then one block south to parade end at 70th Street & Orchard Street.

Sunday, July 4 - Glendale | 10:30 a.m.
Parade begins at Milwaukee River Parkway & Edward Lane, proceeds south along Parkway to Bender Road.

Sunday, July 4 - Whitefish Bay |
11:30 a.m.
Parade starts at the corner of Kent Avenue & Silver Spring Drive, proceeds through the Village of Whitefish Bay, heading north on Lake Drive and ends at Klode Park, overlooking Lake Michigan.

Sunday, July 4 - Brown Deer |
1:30 p.m.
Parade starts at Brown Deer Middle School and travels to the Village Park via north 51st Street.

Monday, July 5 - Humboldt Park | 9:00 a.m.
Parade begins at East Lincoln Avenue and South Kinnickinnic Avenue, proceeds down South Kinnickinnic Avenue to South Logan Avenue to East Idaho Street to Humboldt Park, located at 3000 South Howell Avenue.
