Five Bucks Appear on the 2011 NBA All-Star Ballot

2011 NBA All-Star Game voting has just begun and Bucks fans will find five players representing their favorite team on this year's ballot, which was unveiled today at a tip-off event in Los Angeles, CA. The Bucks All-Star Ballot slate is comprised of center Andrew Bogut, forwards Drew Gooden and Corey Maggette, and guards Brandon Jennings and John Salmons. Bucks fans can begin voting in person this Saturday, November 20 at the Bradley Center when the Bucks host the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7:30 p.m.

The 60th NBA All-Star Game will be held at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 20, 2011, and fans around the world are able to vote in a multitude of ways. Voting for 2011 NBA All-Star Balloting, presented by T-Mobile, will take place in all NBA arenas, in 20 languages at, and through mobile phones by texting the player's last name to 6-9-6-2-2 ("MYNBA") or by visiting on any wireless carrier. Fans can use their Facebook profile information to create a All-Access account, which enables them to complete a ballot online. For the first time, fans can also print paper ballots at home through their web-connected HP Photosmart printer. HP customers can download and launch the NBA print application directly from the touchscreen panel on the front of their printer, print one specially coded ballot per day and mail it in as directed on the form.

Bucks fans are encouraged to vote early and often at every home game through January 12. Voting at the Bradley Center takes place in "All-Star Alley" outside of Section 217. Any fan filling out at least 50 ballots will get the chance to play Bucks Plinko to earn a gift. Fans filling out 100 ballots or more can play Bucks Plinko and be entered into a drawing to win Bucks tickets with access to the Palermo's Courtside Club for a future home game. Fans can vote for their favorites on the ballot or write in their votes if some of their favorites have been omitted from the list. A total of 120 players - 60 each from the Eastern and Western Conferences - are listed on the NBA All-Star Ballot, with 24 guards, 24 forwards and 12 centers from each conference making up the list. A panel of media experts who regularly cover the NBA selected the 120 players on the ballot. Starters will be announced live on TNT on January 27 during a one-hour special at 6 p.m. (CT). In their history, the Bucks have had 17 different players make a total of 38 All-Star appearances, the most recent being Michael Redd in 2004. The complete list is as follows: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6), Ray Allen (3), Vin Baker (3), Terry Cummings (1), Bob Dandridge (3), Marques Johnson (4), Bob Lanier (1), Jon McGlocklin (1), Sidney Moncrief (5), Ricky Pierce (1), Jim Price (1), Michael Redd (1), Alvin Robertson (1), Oscar Robertson (2), Flynn Robinson (1), Glenn Robinson (2) and Brian Winters (2). Among those players, Abdul-Jabbar, Dandridge, Johnson, Moncrief and Winters have been named starters. Brandon Jennings represented the Bucks at All-Star Weekend 2010 while participating in both the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.

NBA All-Star 2011 in Los Angeles is a weeklong event, full of community-enhancing activities, fan festivals and events, including the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service, the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam, and NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm.
