Annual Bucks 'Wives Save Lives' Auction Slated for Game vs. Nets on Saturday

The Milwaukee Bucks and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital are collaborating to host the 21st annual “Bucks Wives Save Lives” auction during the Bucks-Nets game tomorrow night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The silent auction gives fans a rare opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items, with all proceeds benefiting Columbia St. Mary’s Breast Health Programs and the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program. The “Bucks Wives Save Lives” auction has raised nearly $300,000 over the last 20 seasons.

The auction is highlighted by the popular “Favorite Things” baskets for each Bucks player, featuring a pair of that player’s autographed shoes along with his favorite book, music, snacks, restaurant gift cards and more. Bucks coaches also prepared baskets. For the fifth straight year, each “Favorite Things” basket was put together by Bucks Team Mates, an organization made up of the wives, significant others and family members of Bucks players and coaches. Other notable auction items include autographs from NBA stars Dwyane Wade, Glenn Robinson and Carmelo Anthony, and NFL stars Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt.

To participate in this great cause, fans are invited to stop by the arena’s East Lobby during Saturday’s game vs. the Nets (7:30 p.m. tip). The auction will begin when doors open at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at the end of halftime. During that time, Bucks employees, Team Mates, and representatives from Columbia St. Mary’s and the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program will be on hand to monitor the auction and answer questions about the program.

Tickets for the game are still available and can be purchased online at, by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-4NBA-TIX or in person at the BMO Harris Bradley Center box office.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program is a project of the City of Milwaukee Health Department. Since its inception in 1990, the program has provided breast cancer screenings to more than 31,000 uninsured and underinsured women Milwaukee. The Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program is supported by city, state and private contributions.

Columbia St. Mary’s is a marketing partner with the Milwaukee Bucks and an active supporter of the “Bucks Wives Save Lives” auction to support the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program. The Columbia St. Mary’s Breast Health Center is working to bring digital mammography closer to home for the women of Southeastern Wisconsin with the addition of the new Columbia St. Mary’s Mobile Digital Mammography Center. The Mobile Digital Mammography Center provides screening mammograms at clinic locations and community partners in an effort to make the screening process easier and more accessible. The Mobile Digital Mammography Center will be at the event and open for tours.
