After last night’s loss against Chicago, the Bucks are now 21-20 in road openers. Overall, Milwaukee is 24-17 in the season opener and 12-6 since 1991-92.
On Monday the Bucks claimed Austin Croshere off of waivers and requested waivers on Adrian Griffin.
The Bucks will conclude their first back-to-back set of the season tonight in Oklahoma City. The last time Milwaukee opened the year with a back-to-back road set was November 1-2 2005. They swept Philadelphia and New Jersey that season.
Entering the 2008-09 season (the Bucks 41st in the NBA), 286 players had seen action in a regular season game while wearing a Milwaukee jersey. Following their game against the Bulls, that number is 291.
Charlie Bell needs just two three pointers to pass Mo Williams (273) for 5th place in Bucks history.
Milwaukee’s reserves in the backcourt did their part in taking care of the basketball in the season opener. Tyronn Lue finished with five assists without a turnover and Charlie Bell had five assists against just one turnover – allow us to work out that ratio – Lue and Bell combined for a 10.0:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Milwaukee has gone 6-4 in the second game of the season over the last 10 years.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute played 26 minutes in his NBA debut and contributed six points, two rebounds and two steals. He became the 10th player out of UCLA to see action with the Bucks, the most of any college.
The Bucks have advanced to the postseason 25 times in their history, or about 62.3 percent of the time. The outcome of the first game has little to do with that percentage as their postseason rate is at 62.3 percent for both wins and losses in the season opener.
