MILWAUKEE, January 4 (AP) -- Antawn Jamison scored 24 points and the Washington Wizards shot 55 percent from the field to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 101-77 on Friday night.

The game wasn't competitive from the start with the Bucks missing leading scorer Michael Redd, who was kneed in the left thigh against Miami on Wednesday night and is day-to-day.

The Bucks are 6-24 since the beginning of last year without Redd, who is averaging 23.4 points and had been a starter in all 31 previous games.

For as bad as the Bucks were, it sure looked fun for the Wizards, who kept getting easy layups and open looks at will.

Caron Butler, who broke his right hand the last time he played in Milwaukee on April 1, had a much better homecoming to Wisconsin with 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Antonio Daniels, who returned from a sprained knee on Wednesday, scored 14 points in his second game back.

Larry Krystkowiak

(On playing without Michael Redd tonight…)
“I’d like to believe that the situation could have been a lot better (despite playing) without Michael Redd. We certainly don’t want to rely on that. In the NBA, it’s very common to have players out and you’d like to think other guys are going to step up to the occasion and fill in for you. The tone was kind of set early. We had a heck of a time scoring. The game maybe sapped us of our energy because it was hard to score. We had a little bit of life I thought just before halftime, about an eight-minute stretch where we changed up some defenses and got some stops. It was a very difficult night and, Michael or no Michael, it’s a humbling experience.”

(On adjusting without Redd...)
“It’s tough, playing without Mike. I thought they did a really good job of loading up in the pick-and-roll game, and Mo (Williams) didn’t have much opportunity out front. It’s probably going to be a situation where we’re going to need to take Mo off the ball a little bit. He’s going to be one of our higher powered offensive weapons without Mike.”

Yi Jianlian

(On tonight’s loss…)
“Right now we’ve definitely hit a low level of play, due to a lot of injuries. Right now, you can see, it’s not smooth. We have to do a lot, and the biggest thing is to unite together as a team and get back to a normal condition of playing”

(On what the team needs to do to improve…)
“What I saw tonight is not the real Bucks team. We have to come together and unite and get over this loss.”

Royal Ivey

(On playing without Michael Redd…)
“It was tough but we’re a team so we have to stick together regardless of who’s playing and who’s on the floor. He’s our leader and we missed him out there but tonight was just a disappointment. We missed a lot of shots. We have to continue to play hard and fight through that.”

(On what went wrong in tonight’s loss…)
”We got down early. From the jump, we had a bad start. We put ourselves in a hole and it’s hard get out of that hole once you dig ourselves one.”
