(On tonight’s game…)
“We got off to a good start. It felt really good, the game was flowing and we were making shots and executing real well. I think we kind of witnessed the D(wyane) Wade show to end the first half and we didn’t really have an answer. We went small to match up with them on the perimeter. They ran some interesting little plays against our zone and set some pick-and-rolls. We had some people in positions that they weren’t accustomed to being in.”
(On Mo Williams playing all 48 minutes...)
“Mo can rest tomorrow. I really liked what he was doing on the floor on both sides of the ball. Certainly scoring 35 points, he made some big plays for us. He’s been a warrior with some of the injuries we’ve had. He’s found himself on the floor probably more. It’s a situation where we’ll have an optional day for him tomorrow and he can charge up and we’ll head out west and he should be ready to go for the next couple.”
(On Bobby Simmons’ effort tonight...)
“Bobby’s really kind of a calming influence on the floor. He had a couple of turnovers to make it a little shaky, but he understands all the schemes on both sides of the ball. He seems to be in the right spot and he hit some big shots.”
Charlie Bell
(On the team coming closer together…)
“We’ve got to go out there and continue to work and get better. These wins are wins, but at the same time we know we’ve got a tough road trip coming up and we just have to look towards the future.”
(On the upcoming road trip out west…)
”When you look at them, L.A. is probably playing their best ball. Kobe (Bryant), Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, those guys are looking great. Phoenix is always right there, and playing them on a back-to-back is going to be tough. Then Utah is a tough place to play, so we’ve got three tough games coming up. We just have to go out there, stick together, and hopefully get Michael (Redd) back and everybody else can continue to play the way they’ve been playing.”
Mo Williams
(On playing against the Heat after they tried to sign him in the summer…)
“I try to play well every night, some nights you just don’t have it and some nights you have it. Most importantly, we got the win. Three in a row feels good.”
(On tonight’s game…)
“They’re hungry. You saw a lot of hustle plays, but we’re hungry, too. We went on runs and they went on runs. We closed it out and made our free throws and stopped them down the stretch.”
