MILWAUKEE, November 21 (AP) -- Michael Redd scored 26 points and helped hold Kobe Bryant in check as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 110-103 Wednesday night for their fourth straight victory.

The Bucks held Bryant to a relatively quiet 27 points on 6-of-16 shooting - including only six points as Bryant shot 1-for-5 in the fourth quarter.

After a slow start, Bryant scored 15 points in the third, ending the quarter with a 3-pointer and two free throws to give the Lakers an 80-75 lead going into the final period.

But Milwaukee opened the fourth quarter with a 13-3 run, taking an 88-83 lead on Redd's layup with 6:48 left in the game.

The Bucks then stamped out a potential Lakers rally with good outside shooting down the stretch, getting 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions from Bobby Simmons and Charlie Villanueva, and a jumper by Mo Williams to take a 101-93 lead with 2:43 remaining.

The Lakers pulled to within four on a layup by Luke Walton with 54 seconds left. Williams hit a pair of free throws on the other end, but Villanueva fouled Walton, who hit two free throws to cut the Bucks' lead to 103-99 with 36 seconds left.

After Villanueva hit two free throws, Bryant missed a 3-pointer. Bryant's dunk with 12 seconds left in the game was his only field goal of the fourth quarter.

Williams added 18 points for Milwaukee.

Postgame News and Notes

After tonight’s victory, Milwaukee is on 4-game winning streak. The team’s longest winning steak last season was six games (12/16/2007 through 12/27/2007)

Still perfect: A day after recording their first victory on the road, the Bucks won again at home to remain undefeated at the Bradley Center (5-0) this season. The team also improved to 5-0 in games in which they score at least 100 points, 2-0 in the second game of back-to-back sets and 4-0 when shooting better from the field.

Tonight’s victory was Milwaukee’s first after trailing an opponent at the end of the third quarter. They are now 1-4 in those games.

The victory was also Milwaukee’s third straight against the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to last season’s season sweep (2-0), the Lakers had defeated the Bucks in 10 straight contests. Under Coach Phil Jackson, the Lakers are now 10-5 against the Bucks.

One more win this month will give the Bucks their eighth 7-win November in 11 seasons.

While avoiding their lowest scoring quarter of the season (12), the Bucks’ 17 points in the first quarter is the team’s worst output during to open a game this season. In winning, Milwaukee improved to 2-1 when scoring fewer than 19 to start the game.

The Bucks’ reserve corps continued a strong week by with 39 points, a new season high, and 15 boards tonight.

Lakers center Andrew Bynum recorded a double-double with a game-high 13 rebounds and 16 points.

Battle of the boards: Tonight is eighth time in 10 games the Bucks out-rebounded their opponent. They are 6-2 in those contests. The Lakers entered the game averaging a league-best 46.9 rebounds, but were held to only 35 tonight.

Bucks reserve forward Charlie Villanueva has scored in double-digits for four straight games, all wins.

Six Bucks scored in double figures tonight, including a season-best 17 from Charlie Villanueva.

Larry Krystkowiak

(On the team’s slow start to tonight’s game…)
“It’s kind of the same story as last night. We came out slow and we were a little bit tentative. Still, the defense was good. I think we held them to 24 points, but we just couldn’t throw it in the ocean ourselves. We managed to actually hit a three late to pull within seven. I think the guys have been pretty resilient the last couple of nights. I think sometimes teams have the characteristic if the shots aren’t falling to just stop guarding, and the last two evenings I’ve been real encouraged by that fact that our shots haven’t fallen in the first quarter and we continue to guard. Then all of the sudden the rim opens up a little bit and we get some confidence. Certainly, the home crowd helped us this evening.”

(On team’s performance down the stretch...)
“I felt like it was pretty solid. There were a couple of breakdowns where we had a little confusion on what we were running, but the guys made free throws. We managed to take care of the ball and we got some big stops. Certainly, getting the win allows me to think it was pretty solid.”

(On the play of the reserves in tonight’s game…)
“It was huge. Everybody that was a part of that bench, that came into the ballgame and played a part in it, right down the line there isn’t a soul that didn’t contribute in a positive way. I’ve said it before, that is the essence of a team to have a group of people that are united. There’s going to be certain nights that guys are on. I think that Charlie (Villanueva) and Yi (Jianlian) in particular, the two-headed power forward, those guys really like each other and are pulling for each other. They have a similar game and they’re nice weapons to have. There’s that in a lot of positions. I think of Desmond (Mason) and Bobby (Simmons) in the same light. Charlie Bell is getting back in the swing of things. I really like what (Royal) Ivey’s doing, Dan (Gadzuric) and Jake (Voskuhl). It’s important. If you’re going to have any success you have to have your whole team engaged. ”

Michael Redd

(On the game tonight…)
“We played a terrific game, an overall team game. That’s what it was about tonight. We came out and we knew we had to get this win tonight. We don’t want to lose at home and we came out and showed why.”

(On guarding Kobe Bryant…)
“That’s back-to-back nights. LeBron and Kobe. I don’t know who schedules our schedule. Obviously, it’s never mano-a-mano, it’s Lakers against Milwaukee and that’s how we approached it. He’s a terrific player and you just have to play your best against him and bring your best. I think playing USA basketball helped me out a little bit, just getting more comfortable playing with him and working out with him.”

Mo Williams

(On the play of the bench lately…)
“It’s huge. Every team in the NBA wants that and we’re fortunate to have that asset on our team.”

(On how good he thinks the team is…)
“I don’t know. They sky’s the limit for us. I think that we’re only going to get better.”
