Luol Deng scored 32 points and Ben Gordon added 29 as the Chicago Bulls barely fell short for most points in franchise history in a 151-135 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
"It definitely wasn't a playoff atmosphere,'' Bulls forward Joakim Noah said. "Put it this way, if people were playing for something right now, like a playoff berth, the score would have never been like that.''
Forget playoff atmosphere. It was more like playground ball, with alley-oops and easy buckets galore.
Chris Duhon had 22 points and 15 assists for Chicago, which fell five points short of its scoring record of 156 set March 16, 1984 at Portland, and four points short of its regulation record set against Phoenix on Dec. 4, 1990.
"It was kind of like an All-Star game out there,'' Duhon said. "No defense was being played.''
Kind of like an All-Star game, but without any real All-Stars.

Larry Krystkowiak
(On Ramon Sessions setting a Bucks’ franchise record with 24 assists…)
“It was tremendous. I think he does a really nice job of finding the open guy. He has a knack for when to advance. I think he’s got what it takes to have an impact in the league. He certainly is taking advantage of his opportunities. He could be a future piece to the franchise.”
(On the high scoring game tonight…)
They shot almost 100 field goals and made two out of three. We just didn’t have the effort that we needed. I flash back to the first home game of the season against the Bulls, our home opener. If I’m not mistaken, I’m pretty sure we scored more points in the first half tonight than we scored in that game when we beat the Bulls. There were two different ends of the spectrum in terms of energy level and the urgency and how we were getting after it.”
Ramon Sessions
(On setting another career high with 24 assists…)
“It means a lot. You dream about stuff like that and to actually do that is a big thing. It’s too bad we couldn’t get the win, but those 24 assists would have been nothing without my teammates so I tip my hat to them for letting me get those.”
(On setting the franchise record in assists…)
“With a great franchise like this, it speaks for itself. Franchise record, that’s big.”
(On setting the franchise record in assists…)
“It just shows how much the D-League helped me out. Going to the D-League and getting minutes, then coming back up here and being able to play and continue on with that (was great). (The Bucks) are giving me minutes and I’m just trying to show that I can play.”
