Game highlights
Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak
“Atlanta did a nice job attacking. We had a hard time keeping the ball in front of us, because they broke us down off the dribble consistently. It was the type of attack we expected, we just weren’t ready to move our feet. Our bench normally provides a big spark for us, but tonight they struggled, which I think hurt us tonight.”
“We were pretty competitive in the first and third quarters, but not in the second and fourth quarters. We had a hard time scoring points. On the other end, they were getting a lot of easy looks, and that’s where the game kind of steamrolled away from us. We made a couple of runs throughout the game, but we just couldn’t get over the hump.”
Michael Redd
“The second quarter really destroyed us. Next thing I know, we’re down by ten at halftime. We kept trying to make a run, but it was just too much of a task to do that tonight. It was a tough shooting night for us tonight, especially in the second quarter, and when you’re not making shots, you have to be able to defend, and we didn’t do that well tonight, either. Joe Johnson is huge for them every night. It was our job to contain him as best as we could tonight, but he’s a tough player.”.”
Guard Mo Williams
“This was a tough game today. We did the things we were supposed to do in the first and third quarters, but we struggled in the second and fourth. The difference between tonight and the game last week is that we made a lot of shots in the first game, and tonight we struggled on offense. They’re on their home floor and both teams were coming off tough losses. Both teams needed a win, but the Hawks really came out and performed today, and that was the difference in the game.”
