The Preview session is open to youth entering grades 2nd through 8th in the fall. It will feature basketball drills and instruction hosted by Aaron Sovern, director of Bucks summer basketball camps. The Milwaukee Bucks have announced the return of Milwaukee Bucks Summer Basketball Camps for youth with eight sessions at four sites over four weeks scheduled this summer. The Bucks pioneered youth basketball camps in the late 1960s and generated over 30 camp sessions in seven states by the mid-seventies.

Morning and afternoon sessions will be held July 13-16 and 20-23 at the Bucks Training Center in St. Francis; July 27-30 at Heritage Christian School in West Allis; and August 3-6 at Nicolet High School in Glendale. Young boys and girls entering grades 2 through 8 are eligible to register. Camp tuition is $150 per camper. Camp sessions are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. OR 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Campers will receive a Bucks practice jersey, basketball and a complimentary ticket to a 2009-10 Bucks pre-season game and a regular season game. A Bucks player, alumni player or assistant coach will visit each camp.

Aaron Sovern, a veteran of youth basketball education and administration for over 13 years, will direct the camps. Sovern has participated in the Detroit Pistons summer camp program and coached on both high school and junior high levels. Sovern’s mission is to develop confidence in campers while building basic basketball and team play skills and partnership values.

Potential campers and parents unable to attend the Preview Session can obtain additional information and registration forms at buckscamps.com or by calling 414-227-2777.
