The Milwaukee Bucks have selected Jodie Meeks with the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft.
Meeks (6-4, 208) was an early entry candidate for the 2009 NBA Draft, having recently completed his junior season at the University of Kentucky. He averaged 23.7 points during the 2008-09 season to go along with averages of 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He shot 40.6 percent from three-point range last season and 90.2 percent from the free throw line.
In three seasons as a Wildcat, Meeks averaged 15.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He holds UK’s all-time single-season record for three-pointers made (117) and ranks 33rd on the school’s career scoring list (1,246 points). The 21-year-old became the first player in league history to earn four SEC Player of the Week honors in a season when he turned the trick his junior season.
