Lucky, Lucky Bucks

On Monday, May 23, Bucks.com announced three winners in their Bucks Lucky Charms Contest. The winning charms were a fishing lure, a bracelet and a pug named Goro. And how lucky they were! With the lure and bracelet in hand on Tuesday night (Goro stayed in Milwaukee), Larry Harris listened as the Bucks won the top pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.

Following the announcement, Bucks.com caught up with Emily Dunne, the provided of the purple and white lucky bracelet, and her brother Pat. Here are their reactions:

Emily Dunne
On her reaction to the Bucks moving into the top three…
“My first reaction, was ‘oh baby.’ When they broke for the commercial, we were already extremely happy. When they called the Bucks for the first pick, we were jumping up and down and high-fiving. It was amazing.”

On if she thought the charms would help…
“I had a feeling that they’d do OK. I had a feeling that Mike Millies ("Little Cleo" the fishing lure) and my charms would help. But I didn’t think that they’d do this well, so I’m very happy, very excited.”

On her reaction to Larry Harris showing and mentioning her charm…
“I didn’t even think that he would. I just thought, "Oh my gosh, I can’t believe this happened." I just can’t stop smiling. I’m very excited.”

On the lottery…
“It’s a great experience, I’m really excited for next season. Just a message for the other teams: Watch out for the Bucks in the 2005-06 season!”

On the Bucks winning the lottery…
“I was jumping around my living room for about two minutes. I couldn’t believe it. It was amazing. I can’t believe it. I’ve been talking to my friends all about it.”

On if he knew it was going to work…
“Oh yeah, definitely, it had to of.”
