Bucks Sign David Noel

July 3, 2006 - The Milwaukee Bucks have signed second round draft pick(39th overall) David Noel to a multi-year contract, General Manager Larry Harris announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“David is a terrific athlete who has the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor,” said Harris. “He is a tough, defensive-minded player with a solid offensive game. He comes to us well-prepared, having played against top-level competition for four years at the University of North Carolina, and we’re excited to have him in Milwaukee.”

Noel, 22, enjoyed a successful four-year playing career at the University of North Carolina, earning All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Defensive Team honors his senior season. During the 2005-06 season, he was third on the team in scoring (12.9), second in rebounding (6.8) and first in minutes-per-game (33.7). He shot over 50 percent in each of his four seasons as a Tar Heel, including 53.2 percent his senior year.

The 6-6, 230-lbs. forward finished his collegiate career with 880 points, 549 rebounds, 247 assists, 60 blocks and 137 steals. Noel started in 51 of 127 games during his four years and scored in double figures 35 times.
